On this page you will find some information about counseling
services available to students at Northwest School.
The School Counselor is available to the school community in a
support role for one-on-one consultation and referral. The primary purpose of the school
counseling position is to offer short-term support services and to
make referral recommendations for outside counselors and community
agencies and clinics.
Conversations with the School Counselor will be considered
confidential except for those regarding self-harm, harm of others,
or abuse. In these
cases, typically parents/guardians are informed; appropriate
administrators and, in some cases, Child Protective Services and
the Police may be informed, as dictated by state law. Appointments can be made by
dropping by the Counseling Office or by phone. (682-7309 ex. 6016 or the direct
line is 818-6016. The voice mail is confidential so feel free
to leave detailed messages if you like.)
In the document section there
is a description of the Peer Mentoring class which provides
student resources for grades 6-12. Please feel free to
contact me by clicking on the teacher "contact the teacher" button
on the left. Thanks.
