Randy was orginally a student during the opening year of
Northwest in 1980. He returned as a substitute teacher,
as a ceramics instructor during the summer camp, as a
wheel-throwing instructor for advanced students, and as a budding
movie-star in the "Raku Firing" video.
Randy now teaches all Northwest School ceramics/pottery
classes independently.
Aside from teaching pottery to adults, teens and kids, he
is a ceramic artist too. His artwork is in many
galleries in the Northwest (including Kobo in Seattle, Gunnar
Nordstrom in Kirkland, Art Stop in Tacoma, White Bird Gallery in
Cannon Beach, OR and more). Randolph's artwork was
recently exhibited in Beijing in a exhibition called "The Best of
American Ceramics" along side of some of his sculptural
mentors.
In 2012 he will be very involved with NCECA, the National Council
of Educators of Ceramic Arts. He will serve as a juror for a
national K-12 ceramics show at the Bellevue Arts Museum, as
a liason for the national K-12 show.
He will show his artwork at Bellevue Commuity College and at
Nordstroms in downtown Seattle, at the WCAA show in Tacoma and
in his
own solo exhibition at Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery.
